Top Ten Favourite Books (this week)

November 06, 2008

Since we at Being Savvy are celebrating books this month I thought we would share with you our Top Ten Favourite Books (this week). My preschooler definitely has her favourites, however I find that they shift and change over time. Some classic always pop back up, where others fade away. This is what we are reading this week:

1. Waves in the Bathroom by Eugenie Fernandes - Stories of bath time adventures are always a hit in our household.

2. Skippyjon Jones and the Big Bones by Judy Schachner - This Siamese cat that believes he is a chihuahua is a cherished character, add dinoasaurs and we read this book at least once a day!

3. Harry and the dinosaurs at the museum by Ian Whybrow - Dinosaurs, museums ... We have taken this book out numerous times from the library.

4. Hush, little alien by Daniel Kirk - Set to the tune Hush little baby, an alien mom comforts her alien baby. Space and aliens are very interesting to preschoolers.

]5. The new kid on the block : poems by Jack Prelutsky - A collection of silly and fun poems that makes my preschooler giggle before bed.

6. Go Dog Go by PD Eastman - This is one of my childhood favourites that I love to read to her. "Do you like my hat?"

7. If You Give a Pig a Pancake by Laura Numeroff - Every time we read this one, we totally want to have a pig over for brunch! Always good for a giggle!

8. Zelda and Ivy by Laura McGee Kvasnosky - The cruelty and kindness that siblings share always makes for a good collection of stories.

9. Bad Kitty by Nick Bruel - An amazing run through the alphabet not once, not twice but three times as Kitty goes through major mood swings!

10. The Seven Silly Eaters by Mary Ann Hoberman - A wonderful journey with a really neat family. And I though my kids were picky eaters!
