In the New Year

January 05, 2009

Phew. I do not know about you but it is kinda nice that the holidays are over. I wish we had a little more time to unwind, but this week all the programs, school and work start back up. With the cold weather months totally surrounding us, I have a plan to keep us active.

The next few months our preschooler will be attending Aquatic Kiddie Capers twice a week. She has attended the summer camp that was a week, and last term she went once a week. It is such a fun, relaxed, no pressure program that she enjoys. She is not by nature a super active kid. She will run, play and be active with other children, however if left to her own devises she is content to read books, and play quietly. Aquatic Kiddie Capers gives her the opportunity to be active in a sport she adores (swimming), as well as social time with kids her age. The instructors are awesome and have a caring touch that is really nice.

We also plan on continuing with the library's Storytime for Preschoolers on Tuesdays at the Keshen Goodman library, although they have yet to post a registration date. We are heading there tomorrow to get  more information. Once again it is a great socail atmosphere, plus it encourages books and early reading. The librarian that is in charge of the program is phenomenal.

With all our free time, we hope to get together with friends for playdates, head to the museums and explore our beautiful city.

How will you be keeping busy these very cold months?
