Rainy Day Summer Party

We were watching the weather channel closely. We had planned for Sunday but fears of going into labour deterred me and I switched the party to Saturday. I was "suppose" to be sunny with cloudy periods. However if you ask a Maritimer they would tell you, "if you do not like the weather wait 10 minutes and it'll change!"
Creating an Outdoor Party

Our preschooler turned five on Monday. It amazes me that we now have a school age child in our home! She had a quiet day with her brother and myself, we went to the Discovery Centre, baked cupcakes and opened a few presents. The big celebration occurs this weekend. I am struggling to claim a day. We have been watching the weather trying to decide which day would be best to host her party. However, the weather keeps changing. One day it is to rain Saturday, the next day it is to rain Sunday. Not to mention I am almost 39 weeks pregnant, cramping regularly and could do into to labour at anytime!

5 Great Gifts for 5 yr old Girls

My first preschooler is about to become ... School Age! In less than a week, she will turn five. I am in shock really, not completely prepared for this new era in parenting. Before long our summer will be concluding and we will be preparing her (us?) for her first year of school. However, right now we are focused on her birthday. She will be celebrating with her friends the weekend following her birthday, with a backyard kiddie pool party (weather permitting, but so far I have no back up plan!)
